The days and nights are getting warmer which means that mushroom season will quickly be upon us. The first fungus among us will the the morel. Such an elusive little fungi it is too. Last year I had little luck, I only managed to find a few white morels is a sandy area next to a lake in central Vermont. I’m starting early this year, staking out some prime spots. Plus with this early spring weather we are having and rain in the forecast next week the mushroom hunting season may come more quickly than expected. I am digging my mushroom books out this weekend and marking some spots on the map. I can hardly wait!!!

I have to admit to being jealous that you’re able to hunt these down in your own backyard.
The accident of finding this post has brigtnehed my day
Thank you!
